Nikos Vandoros
Nikos Vandoros began his artistic journey by photographing nudes, decoding the hidden sensuality of the everyday woman. His work initially aimed at creating an "erotic passport" for his models. During this process the surrounding space, while playing a subsidiary role in his frames, began to take center stage and the photographs started revealing a psychological concept of the ambiance in a cinematic atmosphere. Now the female figure becomes a secondary presence, taking up the supporting role in his compositions. Presently, Nikos explores a novel approach to nocturnal landscape photography and the architectural sense of daylight. He worked for the Lambrakis Press Group for fashion and portrait photography in magazines such as Vima & Marie Claire from 1988 to 1993. As a freelance photographer he presently collaborates with top newspapers and magazines in Greece, mainly in portraiture. Collaborations include magazines Elle, Max, Harpers Bazaar, Madame Figaro, Vogue, Athens Voice and Epsilon magazine of the newspaper Eleutherotypia, from 1993 till today. He has participated in many group and solo exhibitions throughout Greece.
He has published two photo albums:
"Girl next door", Avesta publishings, 2001
"Femme de cine", Athens Voice publishings, 2010
