Kyriaki Stratoudaki or better known as Kyra, creates small batch, wheel thrown ceramics in her studio in Glyfada. Currently she is located in London and is a member of a communal studio. She focuses on functional stoneware pieces or handmade porcelain jewelry and decorative objects. Having lived abroad for many years during her childhood and early adulthood, her yearning of the Greek sea, waves and sky is often depicted in the shades of blues and whites she uses to decorate and glaze her pieces. Her interest in ceramics started when, aged 13, she tried her hand at pottery at school in Reading, UK and was encouraged by her teachers to take her talent further. Her studies in languages and European Law/Economics took her to various European countries and her interest in pottery resurfaced while living in Brussels in the early 1990's. Kyra's interest in the environment and the "Refill/Reuse revolution" has led her to become a leading maker of Travel Cups. Ceramic cups that are fitted with a silicone lid making them leak proof while on the go or in the office. She currently supplies stockists in London as well as our very own Medley with such handmade ceramic travel cups.
